Interview with author, Natasha Chassagne, PhD

Lessons on Sustainability from Indigenous Communities

Natasha Chassagne is a writer and researcher in sustainability and wellbeing, based in Tasmania, Australia. She specialises in holistic visions for sustainability and wellbeing, in particular a Latin American concept called Buen Vivir (the Good Life) inspired by the values and way of life of indigenous communities.

Natasha’s PhD research was focused on how we can implement Buen Vivir and has led her to develop a framework for community-led sustainability and wellbeing, captured in her recently released book, Buen Vivir as an Alternative to Sustainable Development, Lessons from Ecuador. (Routledge, 2020)

Roshnii Rose will be asking Natasha about the insights and understanding she has gained from her research and how she sees Buen Vivir as offering an holistic and integral alternative to current models for sustainability.

Read Natasha’s article on Buen Vivir.
